Zelio E-Mobility is opening its third manufacturing plant in India. The location is Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Setup starts April 2026 and the plant goes live in July 2026.

Why South India

Until now, every Zelio scooter delivered to a dealer in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, or Andhra Pradesh has travelled from Haryana. That is a long supply chain for a region that accounts for a growing share of our orders.

Kunal Arya, Managing Director of Zelio E-Mobility, stated: “South India represents a key growth corridor for Zelio, with rising demand for electric mobility and strong market potential.”

The Coimbatore plant is the answer to that and helps us with faster delivery of electric scooters to dealers and consumers.

What this Plant Will Do

This Plant will manage three key areas: assembling electric scooters, regional storage, and logistics operations throughout South India.
This isn’t a massive production facility. The heavy manufacturing stays in Haryana. Coimbatore is built to be a regional hub, taking assembled inventory and getting it to southern dealers faster than we ever could from the north.

As Kunal Arya explained, the goal is to “strengthen our manufacturing footprint in the region, streamline our supply chain, and support the expansion of our dealer network” so that Zelio E Mobility can “deliver our electric mobility solutions faster and more efficiently.”

How the IPO Money is Being Used

Zelio completed its IPO in October 2025, raising Rs 78.34 crore. The Coimbatore plant is one of the direct outcomes of that capital being put to work.

The three areas the IPO funds are being deployed into:

  • New manufacturing infrastructure, starting with the Coimbatore facility
  • Supply chain improvements, including storage and regional logistics
  • Dealer network expansion in markets where we have demand but limited supply proximity

For H1 FY26, Zelio reported consolidated revenue of Rs 134.78 crore and a profit after tax of Rs 11.87 crore. The dealer network currently spans 350+ outlets across 20+ states, and over 2 lakh riders across India trust Zelio for their daily commute.
